Pro Abortion Alderman and City Attorney join forces to deny free speech to Rockford Pro Lifers.  Jennifer Cacciapaglia  told the alderman she is consulting with the ACLU on how to "enforce" a bubble zone.  In effect, the city of Rockford has taken sides by asking the ACLU to help them suppress the voice of Rockford Pro-Life  taxpayers at the behest of the abortion mill owner.

Alderman Karen Elyea

Rockford Ill, January 25th,  - The Rockford pro-abortion lobby is in full swing.  Under the disguise of a safety issue, Alderman Karen Elyea and City Attorney Jennifer Cacciapaglia have drafted a city ordinance to disallow pro-life counselors from talking to potential victims of abortion as they go into the Rockford abortion mill.

The safety issue is just a ploy.  Rockford Pro-Lifers past experience with Elyea is indicative of her disdain for the Pro-Life movement.  Below is a recent story that was published on our website.  This article clearly shows Elyea's underlying hate for the Pro-Life people of this city and the real reason for her proposed ordinance.

Losing the Public Trust And The Triumph Of Bigotry In Rockford

Rockford IL,  - Polls show that the average American is increasingly losing trust in the integrity and common decency of our publicly elected officials.  We have a situation concerning a Rockford Alderman that appears to be an example of the lack of concern for the common good that has infected some of our national leaders.

Rockford's abortion clinic is located in the eleventh ward.  Last fall a member of the Rockford Pro-Life Initiative spoke to Rockford's city council and presented documented evidence of the racism, bigotry, anti-Christian hatred, and vicious personal attacks on people with HIV that have been displayed in the windows of the Rockford abortion mill.  Eleventh ward Alderman Karen Elyea was asked at this meeting to look into this matter and do what she could to stop this abuse.  Repeated emails to her office went unanswered.  This racism and bigotry that is located just two blocks from her home and place of business did not even prompt her to respond to these emails.

Mr. Dan McCarty went to the store owned by Alderman Elyea to seek her input and advice to encourage the abortion facility to remove it's hateful signs and symbols.  As soon as Mr. McCarty told Alderman Elyea he had some concerns about the business at 1400 Broadway he was told to "get fu*ked".

A Rockford father who has two African American children tried to contact Alderman Elyea about the racially offensive nooses hanging in the windows of the abortion facility  in her ward.  He was completely ignored.

There are signs in the abortion clinic windows making public and mocking the HIV virus that a certain pro-life individual received through a blood transfusion.  This individual attempted to get  Alderman Elyea's help in having these signs removed and all the alderman said to this person was "I don't talk to terrorists."   This exchange is recorded on video tape.

It is a sad day when a so-called medical facility in the city of Rockford has signs in it's  windows telling people with the HIV virus they are going to "ROT AWAY" and when the local Alderman is contacted she calls the person with the difficult medical condition a "terrorist."

This past December alderman Elyea  finally made an appearance at Rockford's abortion facility but it was not to complain about the signs mocking Christianity, attacking people with HIV, or to complain about the nooses in the windows that have offended African Americans.  Alderman Elyea came to complain to the police officer on duty that a pro-lifer had a "free standing sign" and she wanted it removed.  A pro-lifer was standing right next to his pro-life sign and the alderman told the police officer that she wanted it removed.  The police officer who did not seem like he really wanted to do it but was simply following the orders of a Rockford city Alderman told the pro-life man he had to remove his sign because he was standing next to it and was not holding it.  The pro-lifer then held the sign but was told the alderman wanted it gone and it didn't matter if he held the sign or not and if it wasn't removed immediate action would be taken against him.

One pro-lifer who saw the incident happen said that morning, "just because an alderman complains the police order a perfectly law abiding citizen to leave." In fairness to the police officer it was clear that he was not comfortable doing this.  Later that day pro-lifers contacted officials in the Rockford Police Department and were told the pro-lifer was certainly within his rights to hold his sign at the clinic and this kind of thing will not happen again.

Why alderman Karen Elyea will use her position of public trust and authority to attempt to take away the civil rights of a pro-life Christian and remain completely silent to some of the most flagrant and vicious civil rights violations in the history of Rockford (by this abortion clinic) remains a mystery.

Signs threatening the life of a Christian woman, rubber chickens covering the body of Jesus on a Crucifix, signs telling people with HIV they are going to"ROT",  a poster celebrating the 50,000 abortions at the Northern Illinois Woman's Center as a victory over Jesus Christ, nooses in the windows, and countless other signs and symbols of hatred go unchallenged in the Eleventh ward of Rockford.  Yet a lone Christian holding a sign is "ordered" to leave.  It doesn't matter where you stand on life issues.  This is a matter of common decency and public trust.

On Wednesday January 8th, Alderman Elyea was sitting in her car in front of the abortion facility video taping pro-life Christians as they prayed and witnessed to life. Maybe the Christians were suppose to be intimidated because an Alderman was video taping them?  They were not.  One interesting thing that was noticed was Alderman Elyea made a phone call and  at the same time the cell phone of the abortion clinic owner could be heard ringing in the parking lot just before he answered it.

It certainly appears an Alderman for the city of Rockford is now actively working for and backing the abortion clinic.

There has been talk about trying to revive the Broadway business district in Rockford.  It seems very unlikely this will ever happen when in the heart of this district there is a business that publicly displays an aggressive and disgusting brand of public bigotry and the local Alderman remains silent about it, then uses her authority to unjustly silence those who oppose this hatred.

The above documented history of Alderman Karen Elyea's abuse of her seat on the city council should be a wake up call for all fair minded citizens of Rockford.  It is obvious that the anti-free speech, "bubble law" ordinance she is proposing is just another abuse of her power as a city council member to further her pro-abortion agenda .

The bubble zone being considered by the city council would prevent pro-lifers from approaching mothers considering an abortion.  With the numbers of abortions going down at the Rockford abortion clinic we knew the local abortion establishment would take steps to prevent the life saving help that is being offered to mothers.  What comes as a shock is that the city of Rockford Legal Department in union with the ACLU will do the dirty work for them.  If this bubble zone law passes it will undoubtedly result in the deaths of countless children who's mothers would have chosen life if they had the opportunity to speak with a sidewalk counselor.

Please contact the mayor (address below) and your city council representative to make your feelings known.

About Us...

Rockford Pro-Life Initiative Ltd. was incorporated on November 14, 2008.  Our objective is to eliminate abortion in the Rockford area through, Christian, non-confrontational means.  As stated above, our plan is a simple one.  It consists of Prayer, Fasting, Education and Personal Sacrifice.

YOU CAN SAVE LIVES….

The more people there are standing in prayer and witness on that sidewalk, the more mothers choose life for their child.  We are asking for peaceful, prayerful people to join us at the abortion facility on days abortions are taking place. Typically, abortions take place on Wednesdays and Fridays and occasionally on Saturdays.  The women begin arriving for their abortion appointments at 7am and the abortionist arrives at 9am.  Please contact us to be added to our email contact list if you would like to be notified about days the facility is open or to receive news updates about what is occurring at our abortion facility.  If you cannot join us on the sidewalk at the abortion mill, please pray from your home during these abortion hours.

CAUTION:  The following link shows pictures of aborted babies.  It  should not be viewed by children and if you are easily shocked, please do not click on this link.

These pictures graphically portray the reality of abortion and the seriousness of taking the life of an unborn child.

TEN REASONS TO BE PART OF 40 DAYS FOR LIFE ROCKFORD

1. Jesus told us, "I assure you, if you have faith and don*t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."  In the fall campaign of 40 Days for Life over 600 baby's lives were saved from abortion because of the prayer and public witness of Christians like you!.

2. Jesus told us, "whatever you do to the least of My people you do unto Me." When we pray at an abortion mill we are praying with Jesus at the foot of the cross.

3. Jesus said, "Let the children come to Me." 40 Days for Life is about real LIFE, real FREEDOM, and real HOPE for mothers and children.

4. Jesus said, "Come to Me all who are weary and I will give you rest." Because of 40 Days for Life reaching out to women and men wounded by abortion countless people have been healed by Christ.

5. Jesus told us some things can only be overcome by both, "prayer and fasting." Abortion is satan's victory over human life.....our prayer and fasting united to Christ turns satans victory into his defeat.

6. Jesus asked the simple question, "will you not spend one hour with Me?" Those who participate in 40 Days for Life do spend an hour with Christ in His garden of agony - an abortion mill.

7. Jesus told us, "love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you."  Those who participate in 40 Days for Life pray with love and humility for abortionists and abortion clinic staff.  This has led to a number of conversions of abortion clinic personnel.

8. Jesus said, "blessed are the peacemakers; they shall be called the children of God."  40 Days for Life can bring peace to the most violent place in the world today - the womb!!!!

9. Jesus said, "See that you do not despise one of these little ones; I tell you they have their angels in heaven who continually look on the face of My heavenly Father." 40 Days for Life is about helping people not make a decision that will kill a child and possibly kill the life of God in their soul.

10. Jesus said, "whoever humbles himself and becomes like this child will be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."  40 Days for Life is about humbling ourselves in imitation of our Savior Jesus Christ with compassion sacrifice, and love for children, parents, and a world in need.

Rockford Speaks Out Against Proposed Death Zone

Our Lawyer addressing Pro-Lifers at City Hall

The Rockford Pro-Life Initiative would like to thank all of the people who came to the city council meeting to let our Alderman know the proposed bubble zone is a completely unneeded and ultimately deadly law.

Dozens and dozens of Rockford area pro-lifers filled the city council chamber on Monday night.  The hall outside the chamber was also filled and another special room was set-up so the overflow crowd could listen to the council session on speakers.

Two members of the board of directors of the Rockford pro-life initiative spoke to the council backed up by new information documented from the city of Rockford that not one woman entering the abortion facility has ever filed a complaint against a sidewalk counselor thereby proving this is simply a politically motivated bubble zone meant to increase the revenues of the killing center.

A local grandmother who sidewalk counsels and was instrumental in saving the lives of two children last week at the abortion mill stood up at the meeting and it was explained to the Alderman that if the bubble zone was in place the two children who are alive right now because of the love and support of a sidewalk counselor would have died inside of the Northern Illinois Woman's Center.

Another young woman and her baby also stood up at the council meeting.  This young mother had an appointment inside of the abortion clinic over a year ago but spoke with sidewalk counselors outside on the sidewalk.  Both mother and child came to the city council to show them that sidewalk counselors are there to help women and save children's lives.

The reason the number of abortions at this mill have been cut in half in recent years is because the Christian community is actively, publicly, and prayerfully standing up to the evil of child killing that has taken place far to long in the heart of Rockford at Broadway and 10th.

Letter to Mayor Morrissey regarding the proposed "Bubble Zone" ordinance.

Dear Mayor Morrissey,

I am writing to express my grave concern that the City of Rockford is planning on establishing a "bubble zone" outside the Abortion Clinic in Rockford.

Moreover it is my understanding that the Legal Department of the City is obtaining the help of the radical ACLU in drafting these new laws that would prevent sidewalk counselors from exercising their moral and constitutional right to help these vulnerable mothers.

I have been a Pediatrician in this community for the last 33 years.  Much of my time is devoted to caring for high risk premature babies.  I have spent much of my time talking to grieving parents who have lost their precious babies because of medical conditions, both prenatal and postnatal.  I have seen parents grieve for their infants who have been born very early and must fight for their lives in order to go on living. And I also have a waiting list of prospective parents who cannot conceive and have their own little babies. When the abortion industry claims that there are "unwanted babies" I wish I could be contacted because I have many families who are prayerfully waiting for a child - a badly needed child who will receive their unconditional love and caring.

A conceived baby has been been given the gift of Life.  No one has the right to destroy these infants even when they are in the womb of the mother which should be their safest place of abode.

Although it is legal in the USA to perform abortions from conception until a baby is at a gestational age of    9 months, (Roe vs Wade and Doe vs Bolton) it is morally wrong for anyone to help the abortionists in their desire to destroy more babies in their mothers womb.

The willful destruction of the Life of even one unborn baby cannot be justified.  Science has even shown  people who were unaware of it, that a baby is human from his/her very conception. A prenatal ultrasound especially the new 3-D pictures show the face of innocent babies, who have not committed a crime but must die at the hands of, and in the grasp of the forceps, of the abortionist.

Here is an Ultrasound taken at 9 weeks gestation, of one of my patients, whose family has allowed me to use this baby picture to help people understand that this is indeed an infant.

It is my hope and prayer that the City Council of Rockford will take a stand against these attempts to continue unrestricted abortions on innocent babies without giving their mothers the choice to turn away from this culture of death.  In the case of the unborn baby, he/she will not get a choice.

Respectfully,

Errol C. Baptist, M.D., F.A.A.P.
